When investigating a field, which allegedly contained a small enclosure that had been ploughed away before being located on a map by Leadman (1889), magnetometer data clearly revealed a system of ditches , which incorporates the enclosure and as it is not aligned with the medieval field system suggests a pre-medieval date. The high-resolution earth resistance data collected from inside the enclosure shows modern plough lines but fails to indicate any evidence of burials. Test pitting subsequently confirmed these results thereby removing another potential battlefield site from the list.
